How to Draw Baby Stormfly Dragon | How to Train Your Dragon

Start by drawing a large oval for the head. Add light vertical and horizontal guidelines across the face to help position the eyes and nose later. Then sketch a curved line around the top of the head to create the basic head crest.

Draw a wide U-shaped body underneath the head. Keep the body rounded and soft so it looks chubby and cute. This large belly will give Baby Stormfly its adorable baby proportions.

Draw simple oval shapes for both legs and feet. Add a curved tail extending from one side of the body. Finally, sketch long guideline curves for both wings starting from the shoulders to establish their overall size and position.

Begin refining the head by drawing two large sparkling eyes. Add the pointed horn in the center of the forehead, followed by the wide beak-like snout. Draw tiny sharp teeth along the sides of the mouth and add a row of short spikes around the top of the head.

Complete the body outline by connecting the neck, belly, legs, and feet with smooth curves. Refine the tail shape and add small spikes along the back of the tail. Shape the claws to give the dragon a playful pose.

Using the wing guidelines, draw both dragon wings with curved outer edges and membrane details between the wing bones. Keep the wings balanced on both sides for a cute flying-dragon appearance.

Trace the entire drawing using bold, clean lines. Erase all construction lines and rough sketches so the artwork is ready for coloring.

Color the head, back, tail, and legs with bright blue. Use a soft cream or beige color for the belly and lower face. Color the wings yellow with blue outlines, add red markings around the eyes, and finish the horn and head spikes with warm yellow. Add white highlights to the eyes to make Baby Stormfly look bright and lively.
