Learn how to draw kawaii Girafa Celestre step by step! In this cute drawing tutorial, we’ll draw a little giraffe astronaut inside a watermelon body, from simple basic shapes to the finished colorful character.
Grab your pencil or drawing tablet, and let’s start drawing, Cuties!
Start with a large tilted oval for the watermelon body.
Add another curved oval across the top to create the cut surface. Draw a small oval opening in the center where the giraffe’s neck will come out.
Above the watermelon, draw a large rounded oval for the giraffe’s head.
Connect the head to the opening with two long curved lines to form the neck.
Add simple guide lines across the face to help place the features later.
Draw a large round shape around the giraffe’s head to create the astronaut helmet.
Add a small curved rim underneath the helmet around the neck.
Keep everything soft and rounded for a cute look.
Draw four short legs underneath the watermelon body.
Then add large rounded shoes at the bottom.
Make the boots chunky and slightly oversized to give Girafa Celestre a playful kawaii style.
Now add the giraffe’s facial features.
Draw two cute eyes, a rounded muzzle, a small smile, ears, and two little ossicones on top of the head.
Add different-sized giraffe spots across the head and neck.
Refine the astronaut helmet with a clean outer curve.
Add the helmet rim around the neck and the small circular detail on the side.
Leave enough space around the giraffe’s face so the helmet looks like a clear glass bubble.
Draw small black seeds across the top surface of the watermelon.
Add another curved line around the edge for the rind.
Then draw wavy stripes around the outside of the watermelon to create its classic watermelon pattern.
Now refine the boots.
Add the toe caps, soles, cuffs, and small crisscross laces.
These little details make the oversized astronaut-style boots feel more complete.
Go over the entire drawing with clean, smooth lines.
Refine the giraffe, helmet, watermelon, legs, and boots.
Erase the remaining sketch and guide lines.
Your Girafa Celestre line art is finished!
Time to color!
Use dark and light green for the watermelon rind and bright red-pink for the inside. Add dark seeds.
Color the giraffe a soft peachy tan with brown spots, pink cheeks and ears, and an orange muzzle.
Use warm orange for the boots and add white highlights to the helmet to create a shiny glass effect.
