Begin by drawing a simple ellipse to outline the dog’s head.
Next, add two teardrop shapes on both sides of the head for the ears, slightly overlapping the head.
Draw an oval shape beneath the head to form the body. Keep it round and soft!
Sketch two arm-like shapes on each side of the body. These will help the dog “float” later on.
Draw two overlapping ellipses around the body to form the swim float. Tilt them to give a playful angle.
For the head and fur, trace the outer shapes with softened, wavy lines. Remember to skip some lines where the float or arms intersect.
Erase all the extra sketch lines. Add the face—eyes, nose, mouth—and some fur textures or float patterns.
To make your swimming pup look like it’s really floating, draw a few simple wavy lines around the float. These ripples will add a fun, lively touch to your drawing.
